This new dance work explores the 1960s, investigating the ideology of the hippie generation and the increasing generation gap that signaled a divisive decade where feminism, civil rights, and social norms were challenged and explores the turmoil, confusion, distrust + disappointment that occurred.

Keith Johnson/Dancers will premiere Black Hummingbird this Friday, June 9th at the Garage Theater at 251 East Seventh Street in Long Beach. This show curated by Alex Rix and Katelyn Sanchez has been a pleasure to be part of. Black Hummingbird is a collaboration between Keith, Dante Casarin, and Colin Harabedian. It began during an Improvisation class taught by Keith with Dante as a student and then Colin came into the fold as the performer. Hope you can make the show. Black Hummingbird is only being performed June 9th but the show runs on June 9 and 10!

This informal showing will showcase new work including Adriane Fang performing To Conquer Me Home and Colleen Thomas, Rosalynde LeBlanc, and Eric Geiger performing new versions of SERIES. This is a private showing with 15 audience guests.
