Southern Miss. Alliance for Equality The goals and purpose of this organization are as follows:
1. To assist in programs that will benefit the entire gulf coast community.

Alliance for Equality aims to provide a supportive, safe social setting for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA) community and their friends and supporters on the Southern Miss Gulf Park campus. To provide a supportive, safe social setting for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA) persons and their friends and supporters,

as well as any other interested parties recognizing sexual diversity on the Southern Miss Gulf Park campus.
2. To provide educational resources to the college and community regarding issues of gender and sexual diversity.
3. To provide a vehicle of social and political action in regards to issues of gender and sexual diversity on a local, state, national and international level.
4. To act as an ally to other organization dealing with issues pertinent to our own membership body

Students, finals are here and there are several resources on campus designed to help you succeed!

The Academic Success Center located on the first floor in the Gulf Coast Library offers study space, academic assistance, and free coffee. The Academic Success Center will be open Tue., May 8 - Wed. May 9 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Thurs., May 10 from 10 a.m. until noon.

The Gulf Coast Library offers spaces to study alone or with a group, and there is also a 24/7 Study Room on the first floor of the library that is accessible to all students, faculty and staff with an active USM ID card.

Visit the University's new Marine Education Center at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory with your family and friends during its first Community Day this Saturday! The new Marine Education Center serves as the education and outreach arm of the GCRL. The event will feature tours, hands-on activities and demonstrations.
