"In the midst of outer dangers I have felt an inner calm and known resources of strength that only God could give. In many instances I have felt the power of God transforming the fatigue of despair into the buoyancy of hope.” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"By accepting God as your partner, there is no limit to what can be achieved. However, [R.G. LeTourneau] said that God is no remote partner, satisfied if you go to church on Sunday and drop some religious money - (the small change that goes to church) on the platter. He isn't overwhelmed if you read the Bible once in a while and obey the Golden Rule. That, he said, isn't active Christianity, but just a half-hearted way of getting along. When you go into partnership with God you have a partner closer and more active than any human partner you can ever have. He partcipates fully in everything you let Him do and when you start putting on airs and thinking you are doing it with your own head of steam, He can set you down quicker and harder than a thunderbolt. There is nothing dull about being in partnership with God." - "The Joy of Accomplishment: It's Always Too Soon to Quit", by Nels E. Stjernstrom

Nels Stjernstrom served as Assistant to R.G. LeTourneau at R.G. LeTourneau Inc. and later at LeTourneau College. A close friend and confidant, Stjernstrom's 1989 book recounts his memories of R.G. the inventor, the businessman, the preacher, the friend, and the Christ follower.

"For over fifty years I lived with a man who was always excited about what he was doing. Vacation to him was plunging into another project - he always talked about the joy of accomplishment." - Evelyn "Mom" LeTourneau

Author Nels Stjernstrom ends her 1989 biography of R.G. "Pop" LeTourneau with a tribute to Evelyn "Mom" LeTourneau - R.G.'s "supporting companion for fifty-two years".

With the school year starting back up here and around the country and the Fall season ramping up, we wanted to share Mom's encouragement with you today. May we find joy in what God allows us to do, may we intentionally and thoughtfully - with anticipation - look for it. Whatever your vocation - from stay at home parent to factory floor worker to computer programmer - seek joy and remember that, you - on your team, in your family, in your community, and for your customers - are "molders of lives". Let us do it with joy and for God's glory, that all might come to know Christ!
