A devastating industrial accident occurred at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging facility, resulting in critical injuries and a tragic loss of life.

Because we are such a tight-knit region, an event of this scale touches almost all of us. So many of our students, faculty, and staff have deep roots in our local industries, or have loved ones serving as first responders. We are grieving alongside the affected families, coworkers, and the emergency crews working tirelessly on the scene.

Support & Resources:
Processing a tragedy like this is incredibly difficult, even if you weren't directly impacted. Please remember to give yourself and those around you a little extra grace right now. If you need a safe space or someone to talk to, please utilize our campus resources:

- For Students: Our Counseling Services team is available and ready to support you.
- For Faculty & Staff: Mental health and grief resources can be accessed through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

For the most immediate and accurate information, please follow the Cowlitz County Department of Emergency Management page.

Campus Safety Update:
We know news like this can cause immediate concern on our LCC campus. Our leadership team and Campus Safety have been closely tracking the situation. Local emergency management has confirmed that there is no threat to the surrounding community, and no shelter-in-place orders are in effect for our campus. Our campus remains secure, and no immediate action is required.

Please take care of yourselves and look out for one another. We are in this together.
