In 1983, LeTourneau College launched a groundbreaking freshman computer program because Dr. Richard LeTourneau believed technology would shape the future. At a time when computers were still unfamiliar to many, he said:

“Learning to ‘drive’ a computer will be just as important.”

More than 40 years later, that vision is still moving forward.

From early computer terminals to today’s laptops, labs, simulators, and advanced engineering spaces, LeTourneau University continues preparing students to lead, innovate, and serve in a rapidly changing world.

The future home of the Christian Polytechnic University Center is beginning to take shape.

Construction fencing is now in place as LeTourneau University prepares to begin work on this transformational project — a space designed to equip the next generation of engineers, business leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers to serve Christ in every corner of the world.

This project represents more than a building. It represents students being shaped academically, spiritually, and professionally for lives of purpose and impact.

to 1976 and one of LeTourneau’s early student fundraising efforts: Scholarshare.

30 years ago, more than 300 students participated in the “Spirit of ’76” phonothon, making thousands of calls over three evenings to help raise scholarship support for fellow students. The effort reflected a simple but powerful idea—students helping students pursue a Christian education.

Nearly 50 years later, that same spirit of generosity and community continues at LeTourneau University as alumni, friends, and supporters invest in future generations of YellowJackets.

We’re excited to share that the Paul & Betty Abbott Aviation Expansion is fully funded.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of faithful supporters, the entire project will be completed fully funded and paid for in cash—allowing this transformational expansion to move forward debt-free.

This space will help equip future generations of aviation students through hands-on learning, innovation, and preparation for lives of purpose and service through an intentionally Christian education. Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone possible.

Progress continues on the Abbott Aviation Renovation & Addition as site preparation and infrastructure work move forward steadily.

Recent milestones include completed water testing, underground utility removal, fire riser work, temporary fencing installation, and rerouting of the fire suppression water feed. Demolition work is now underway as crews continue preparing the site for the next phase of construction.

Over the next several weeks, the project will advance into footer excavation, foundation work, under-slab plumbing, and additional structural preparation as this transformational space continues taking shape for future aviation students. Stay tuned!

Founded in the 1965-66 school year by a group of student automotive enthusiasts, the Auto Society (AS) was created as a Christ-centered organization where members could grow in fellowship while furthering their knowledge of automobiles. Were you a part of AS?

We’re excited to share that the Athletic & Human Performance Air Dome is fully funded.

Thanks to the generosity of faithful supporters, the entire project will be paid for in cash—an incredible milestone for LeTourneau University and the future of student athletics, wellness, and performance training.

We look forward to celebrating this achievement together at the official ribbon-cutting on August 19.

Progress continues on the Athletic & Human Performance Air Dome as this transformational project moves closer to completion.

Recent milestones include completed track flooring and striping, the completion of the shot put venue, finished site lighting, and continued progress on sidewalks, landscaping, bleachers, and lobby spaces. Fire protection systems, A/V installation, and additional finishing work are also nearing completion across the facility.

We’re grateful for the generosity and support helping create a premier space where students can train, compete, and grow.
