“Earthmoving progress” has a long history at LeTourneau.

In a 1970s-era reflection, R.G. LeTourneau looked back on the development of the Tournapull, recalling that people initially laughed at the idea of putting the engine out front and using rubber tires. What seemed unusual at the time eventually became an approach other manufacturers adopted.

He was still experimenting decades later, describing a new single-wheel “Tugpull” designed to lead a line of scraper units with a tighter turning radius and improved balance.

That willingness to keep building, testing, and moving forward feels especially fitting today.

Crews are once again moving dirt on campus as groundwork continues for the Christian Polytechnic University Center, and this fall’s Homecoming & Family Weekend theme, Still Moving, celebrates that same spirit of faith, ingenuity, and forward motion.

R.G. closed his reflection with words that still resonate: “Faith without works is dead.” For LeTourneau, faith and work have always belonged together.

Then and now, we’re still moving—and still building with purpose.

CPUC Project Update

Work continues on the Christian Polytechnic University Center, with several major site and infrastructure pieces now well underway.

Crews are making progress on earthwork, underground utilities, electrical and plumbing rough-ins, elevator pits and foundations, and the north fire lane. General grading is now 85% complete, while stormwater lines on the north, west, and east sides are each about 75% complete.

To date, the project has logged more than 6,100 onsite manhours, moved more than 14,000 cubic yards of earth, and placed more than 130 cubic yards of concrete.

Over the next few weeks, work will continue on concrete foundations, electrical and data duct banks, road base for the north and west fire lanes, and plumbing rough-in.

It may still look like a lot of dirt and underground work today, but every one of these steps is laying the groundwork for the spaces where future YellowJackets will prepare for the future, and that is worth the wait.

Thank you to everyone whose generosity is helping build what comes next at LeTourneau.

One student. One prayer. One cup at a time. ☕

We’re grateful for every Coffee Club member who continues to support LeTourneau students through both scholarship and prayer.

Your generosity helps make a LeTourneau education possible, and your prayers remind students that there are people beyond campus who know their names, care about their lives, and are faithfully lifting them up before the Lord.

This week’s Coffee Club email featured Anya Solodovnikov, a senior from Paris, Texas, studying Human Performance and Sport Sciences.

Anya shared how grateful she is for the way LeTourneau has shaped her, blessed her with friendships, and prepared her for God’s calling on her life. She also asked Coffee Club members to pray that she would hear and obey the Lord through His Spirit.

That’s what Coffee Club looks like each week: meeting a student, hearing a little of their story, and praying for them by name.

To our Coffee Club members: thank you for walking alongside students like Anya.

And if you’re not part of Coffee Club yet, we’d love to welcome you.

From go-kart races and drone races to boat races, from barbecue and rope pulling to bot fighting, and from the new Air Dome to Crowder in concert, Homecoming & Family Weekend gives you plenty of reasons to come back to campus.

But some of the best moments are the simplest ones: seeing old friends, reconnecting with classmates, walking familiar paths, and making a few new memories along the way.

This photo takes us back to the go-kart races in 2022. This fall, we hope you’ll be part of what comes next.

Make your plans for Homecoming & Family Weekend and come home to LeTourneau.

In 1993, YellowJackets showed up.

Homecoming ’93 was one of the largest LeTourneau had seen up to that point, welcoming more than 300 alumni back to campus for reunions, meals, special events, and plenty of time reconnecting with old friends.

A lot has changed since 1993. The campus has grown. New buildings have taken their place alongside familiar ones. There are a few more generations of YellowJackets with stories of their own. And we're celebrating 80 years of LeTourneau impact!

But one thing hasn’t changed—Homecoming is better when you’re here.

Homecoming & Family Weekend is just one month away, Oct. 1–3, and we’d love to see another great crowd of alumni, families, and friends back on campus.

So, what do you say, YellowJackets?

Can 2026 give Homecoming ’93 a run for its money? 😄

Come celebrate with us! Make your plans and register today: letu.edu/homecoming

Thank You for Building with Purpose!

Now that the Athletic & Human Performance Air Dome is complete, open, and already serving LeTourneau students, we want to thank you again.

What began as a vision is now a space where students can train, compete, and even grow together throughout the year.

To everyone whose generosity helped make this possible: thank you.

Your investment is already at work, creating opportunities for today’s YellowJackets and generations still to come.

Concrete poured at Abbott Aviation!

This morning, crews poured concrete for the Abbott Aviation renovation and expansion—another step forward as the project continues.

There’s something encouraging about seeing a new slab go down. What was once only part of a plan is becoming a foundation for the spaces where future LeTourneau aviation students will learn and prepare their work ahead.

Thank you to everyone whose generosity continues to move this project—and LETU Aviation—forward. More updates and photos to come!

Behind every scholarship is a student.

A student with a story. A calling. A semester full of challenges, opportunities, decisions, and moments when prayer matters.

That’s part of what makes Coffee Club special.

Coffee Club members give $10 each month to support student scholarships at LeTourneau, but the connection doesn’t stop with the gift. Each week, members are introduced to a different LETU student and receive specific ways to pray for them.

It’s a simple reminder that generosity is ultimately about people—and an opportunity to support students both financially and prayerfully as they prepare to serve the Father.

Coffee. Prayer. Purpose.
