Renowned violinist & storyteller, Dr. Tami Lee Hughes, along with Byron Burford-Phearse, accompanist pianist, will be performing a free concert tonight in the historic Christ Episcopal Church on the brick streets of old town Vicksburg at 7 pm. Both of these extraordinary musicians have delighted audiences nationally and internationally from New York to Paris. Last night the audience in Natchez gave a standing ovation, and tonight is the final night of her southern tour. Come out, bring your friends, and marvel at A Classical Evening with us!

Alcorn State University's Vicksburg Campus and Southwest Mississippi Center for Culture and Learning, along with Christ Episcopal Church, will host renowned classical violinist and recording artist Dr. Tami Lee Hughes of Atlanta, Georgia, in a free public concert on Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 1115 Main Street, in Vicksburg. No advance tickets are required, but seating is limited. The program will focus on the work of African-American composers interpreted against the backdrop of American history and culture. Congratulations, Harmony, and all of the first-grade students at Sherman Avenue Elementary School for making our I Can Fly Logo Contest such a success. Thanks to Dr. Davis, their principal, Superintendent Shealy, and their teachers who helped.
