In the race to automate everything, companies could be missing a critical insight: customers still crave genuine human connection. Learn why "deep hospitality" is a competitive edge in 2026 and beyond.

As the adoption of AI to provide customer service accelerates, managers would be well advised to remember that the human touch still matters. Drawing on examples from Ritz‑Carlton and Four Seasons, the authors show how hospitality is rooted in dignity, purpose, and employee judgment—not scripts ...

Shade is one of the most effective ways to reduce heat risk, yet Los Angeles County has less shade than the national average. ShadeLA is a collaborative effort that aims to cool Los Angeles ahead of major sporting events like the World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

ShadeLA, a new USC-led initiative, unites civic, academic and community partners to expand urban tree canopy and shade infrastructure — building lasting heat resilience for Angelenos well beyond 2028.

Some of the ways travelers have been doing so include contributing to local ecosystems by planting trees or adopting more eco-friendly ways to get around their destination, like cycling.

As 2026 dawns, the travel industry stands at the threshold of a new era—one where adventure meets awareness, and exploration is guided by responsibility. Travelers are no longer just seeking new landscapes; they want to connect deeply with destinations while minimizing their impact on the planet. ...

FIFA describes the demand for tickets to the 2026 World Cup as “unprecedented.” Many hotels and tour companies in host cities are offering special packages for visiting fans, and have already seen a sharp increase in bookings. Despite the incredible opportunity hosting such a large event to North America brings, it also introduces challenges.

North America is preparing for the biggest World Cup ever, with the U.S. hosting the lion's share of matches. What will it mean for tourism in the region?

In our 10th year at Bovard College, for we celebrate our namesake, Emma Bovard. She was one of the first students to enroll at USC after its founding in 1880, and she returned as its first lady from 1903 to 1921, when her husband George Finley Bovard served as university president. Emma Bovard recognized diversity as a powerful force for good, championed women’s rights, and established philanthropic initiatives still in place today. Her commitment to access and opportunity lives on through the Bovard College mission.
