SOUNDS LIkE A GOOD YEAR TO BE AN ACTOR!
The year of the horse is a time for following your intuition, taking bold risks, and seizing sudden opportunities. The upcoming Year of the Fire Horse (beginning February 17, 2026, and ending February 5, 2027) is particularly potent, occurring once every 60 years, and is expected to be characterized by high-intensity passion, creativity, and a drive for freedom.

Goodbye Mr. Duvall. You were an artist whose work never felt performed — it felt lived.

Long before awards and iconic roles, Robert Duvall was a serious student of the craft, training under Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse. He carried that discipline with him for the rest of his life: the commitment to truthful behavior, the courage to listen fully, the willingness to let a moment change him. Watching Duvall was watching an actor who trusted the given circumstances so completely that art disappeared and humanity remained.

From quiet menace to aching vulnerability, he built characters from the inside out. There was no flash for its own sake, no indulgence — only behavior rooted in deep preparation. He reminded us that simplicity is not small; it is powerful.

For those of us who teach and practice this work, his legacy is more than a list of performances. It is a standard. Show up. Do the work. Tell the truth. Listen harder than you speak.

Let’s honor him the best way we know how: by telling the truth under imaginary circumstances, with the same quiet, unwavering integrity he brought to every role.
