We are active, self-reliant, and trustworthy. We strive to contribute to the cultural, social, and ethical development of our members. Together we are AST.

The Gamma Upsilon chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority is located at California State University, Los Angeles and was founded on September 25, 1993.

“I joined AST for so many reasons, but the main reason was because I felt welcomed, and can be myself around all the girls and I felt at home. (I also wanted to find future bridesmaids haha). I have learned how to make connections, be a mentor, and love myself. I learned that having positive women around you who are just as motivated to reach their goals, really opens doors for you and is a support system I never knew I needed. Being in this sisterhood was one of the best decisions I ever made.”

“I joined AST because I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone my first year of college and explore by joining a sorority. One thing I love about the sorority, is the amazing people I’ve met throughout this year! These people are much more than friends, there family to me and I’m so grateful for meeting them. Being in AST I’ve gained the confidence as a woman to reach for my goals and much more. There should not be a limit to what I can accomplish in life. I am beyond grateful to be mentored by my older sisters as they continue with their education and set an example for me. So that I know I’m capable of doing the same.”

“I was looking for a home in college, a place where I could feel comfortable to be who I am and make unbreakable bonds. The minute I spoke to AST sisters I knew that it was the place where I wanted to bloom. I instantly felt like I belonged and fell in love with my AST sisters. I love being able to reach out to any of my sisters and all of them would be more than willing to be there for me. AST is more than just a sorority in college it’s a family that loves you whole heartedly no matter what. Through AST I have also gained the ability to empower myself more in open spaces and feel confident with who I am.”
