USPARC Undocumented Students Promoting Advancement Retention and Community is IDEAS at UCLA's retention pro

We support undocumented students at UCLA through cohorts facilitated by undocumented student mentors. Each mentor shares knowledge from their personal experience on campus to their mentees, and they build community through activities, discussion, and more. We also host Study Spaces for students during exam seasons and Socials to de stress during overwhelming times. Lastly, we make sure to provide

our students with up to date information related to the undocumented experience, and resources relevant to their higher education experience for the purpose of maintaining our Bruins in school!

During the Exploring Identities Cohort, we will examine and reflect on our positionalities, a “concept that acknowledges that we are all raced, classed, and gendered, and that these identities are relational, complex, and fluid positions, rather than essential qualities (Martin & Gunten, 2002, p. 46). Our positionalities involve issues of privilege, marginalization, and power.

While folks are not required to sign up for every quarter, this cohort is designed to build on from previous cohorts.
Fall: My identity
Winter: Our identity
Spring: Identity and Social Justice
