USC Rotaract Club This is the official page of the University of Southern California's Rotaract Club.

We are a community based organization that works to improve the USC and greater Los Angeles Community by following the Rotary commitment to "Service above Self". The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote

better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. The goals of Rotaract are:
(1) To develop professional and leadership skills, (2) to emphasize respect for the rights of others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations, (3) to provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world, (4) to provide opportunities for working in cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs and, (5) to motivate young people for eventual membership in Rotary. Don’t miss our first virtual voluntary event with LA Works this Saturday at 10:00 am PST.

We will help the hungry find food by researching, calling & emailing, food pantries and soup kitchens for Food Oasis. This virtual volunteer opportunity will occur via Zoom and comprise a training session, independent research and a group discussion.

Los Angeles county has the largest number of people enduring food insecurity in the nation yet wastes over one million tons of food a year! Your research will be invaluable to constructing mechanisms in place to stop this rampant waste, and allocate more to those in need.

Thank you to Sarah and Ben from LA Rotary for coming to our general meeting this past Tuesday! We really enjoyed finding out more about the inner workings of Rotary, how they came to be apart of it, and their favorite moments working with Rotary! We also had students from the Korea Town Interact club visit, and we all had a blast eating donuts and decorating cards for the troops.
