EMPH year-two students gained press conference experience in Session 7 of Healthcare Marketing (HPM 445), taught by Dr. Julie Elginer in Winter Quarter. Leading up to this session, students had participated in a Harvard Business School course simulation where they were asked to play the role of a manager at Matterhorn Health, a medical device manufacturer. The firm has launched a new blood glucose monitoring device for patients to track their own glucose levels. But the product encounters quality problems soon after launch.

Tasked with managing the unfolding crisis, the students were asked to hold a “press conference” in class.

Thank you, Dr. Elginer. Such a great course. Can’t believe Spring Quarter starts tomorrow. Which means Commencement is just around the corner.

HPM 445 – Healthcare Marketing
