The UCLA Department of Social Welfare offers a full-time, two-year professional masters program leading to an MSW degree that combines academic coursework with practical fieldwork experience in Social and Economic Justice, Child and Family Well-being, and Health and Mental Health. Every year, the department admits approximately 100 students to the program offering them a unique experience to inte
ract with faculty, both in the department and throughout the School . The MSW program recruits students from groups that historically have not participated in university education because of age, socioeconomic background, disability, geography, or discrimination. We seek a student body that reflects cultural diversity in keeping with the values and goals of the profession of social work.
