If you’re thinking about law school, you’ve probably heard a lot of advice. Some of it is helpful. Some of it isn’t.

Here are five misconceptions we hear every year:

❌ “My GPA is too low.”
❌ “I need legal experience.”
❌ “The personal statement doesn’t matter.”
❌ “Admissions only care about numbers.”
❌ “Everyone else knows what they’re doing.”

The truth is that law school admissions is much more nuanced than many people realize.

Admissions committees review applications holistically, considering academic preparation, experiences, writing, leadership, and the unique perspective each applicant brings.

Don’t let myths stop you from pursuing your goals.

Summer is one of the best times to begin preparing your law school application.

You do not need to have everything figured out.
Start with the fundamentals:
✓ Research schools
✓ Develop an LSAT timeline
✓ Build your resume
✓ Reflect on your experiences

Small steps now can make the application process feel much more manageable later.

Our Application for 2027 opens on September 1.

What part of applying to law school feels most overwhelming right now?
