Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine (CCM) is a student organization that was established in the 1960s in an effort to improve the representation of Mexican-Americans (Chi

canos) within medical schools across the nation. Today, Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine is a pre-health professional student organization open to all who are interested in learning more about the health care field, participating in community service events, and making new friends. We are a student organization dedicated to supporting one another in our academic endeavors and thereby increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine. We also commit ourselves to serving our community in an effort to "promote diversity in health through community service and education."

The symposium will feature a diverse panel of distinguished health industry professionals, reflective of our student body, who will discuss critical issues affecting equitable healthcare access in the community.
