Over the past three months, something truly special happened in Bakersfield.

Across four school communities, 168 parents, grandparents, and caregivers came together through Black Family University to learn, grow, and support one another.

What began as a series of workshops became a journey of transformation.

Families showed up despite busy schedules, technology barriers, language differences, and the many challenges they face every day.

Their commitment reminded us that when parents are given the right tools and support, they are eager to invest in themselves and their children.
