LACC Visual & Media Arts Department The Los Angeles City College Visual & Media Arts Department is committed to helping students reach their academic and career goals.

Our disciplines include Art, Art History, Photography, and Journalism. The Los Angeles City College Visual & Media Arts Department is committed to offering an extensive program of courses for students whose goals range from a career in fine arts, art history, graphic design, photography or journalism to those pursuing personal enrichment. We offer the AA degrees in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Photo

graphy and Journalism as well as two year programs aimed at transfer to the University of California and California State University systems. Our faculty of working professionals teaches art as both a subject and an activity. Our courses provide a foundation in visual knowledge and theory and training in the techniques of art-making. We recognize the uniqueness of the individual and encourage exploration of her/his/their creative talents by emphasizing art experience and potential in a diversity of cultures. The relationships among the arts are emphasized and enrollment is encouraged in other arts disciplines.
