This summer, the inaugural cohort of the School of Nursing's Nurse Anesthesia Program crossed the stage, becoming the program's first graduates and helping launch a legacy that will continue for years to come.

✅ 16 graduates
✅ 100% completion rate
✅ 100% employment placement
✅ Zero faculty turnover throughout the program

Together, the cohort completed more than 42,000 clinical hours and nearly 16,000 anesthesia cases, demonstrating the dedication, resilience and expertise required to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

As our first graduates begin professional practice and our fourth cohort begins its journey, we celebrate the students, faculty and clinical partners who helped make this milestone possible.

Few people know the UofL School of Nursing from as many perspectives as Dr. Rosalie Mainous.

After earning her BSN as a working nurse, Mainous went on to serve as a faculty member, administrator, researcher and mentor before becoming a professor emerita. Along the way, she helped shape nursing education and built a career that would take her to some of the nation's top nursing leadership roles.

In our latest alumni spotlight, Mainous reflects on the experiences that shaped her career, the lessons she carried with her and why she's excited about the future of nursing.

This summer, we're celebrating UofL Nursing graduates who are ready to serve patients, lead teams, advance practice and strengthen healthcare across Kentucky and beyond.

This graduating class includes students from our ABSN, MSN, post-graduate certificate, DNP Nurse Practitioner and the School's first-ever graduating CRNA cohort.

30 future nurse anesthetists officially began their journey this semester as they joined the fourth cohort of the Nurse Anesthesia Program. 🩺

During orientation, students were welcomed into a growing tradition as the program's first graduating cohort passed along the Watchful Care book, symbolizing excellence, mentorship and the responsibility of caring for patients at their most vulnerable moments.
