White Coats & Big Visions: A Strategic Planning Power-Up Weekend 🩺✨
This weekend, Dr. Jennifer Middleton and her incredible community partner, Beatriz Vides of Be the Change, had the honor of co-facilitating the University of Louisville School of Medicine General Pediatrics Division’s Strategic Planning Retreat… and what a way to spend a weekend!
Instead of brunch reservations and lazy Saturdays, these inspiring pediatricians chose Post-It Easel Pads, bold questions, sticky notes, and brave conversations. And it was invigorating. The kind of energy that hums in the room when smart, compassionate leaders pause long enough to ask not just “What are we doing?” but “Who are we becoming?”
There is something powerful about gathering physicians & leaders in one space to think intentionally about culture, equity, workforce wellness, patient outcomes, and the future of pediatric care for Louisville. Strategic planning can sometimes feel like spreadsheets and mission statements. This was different. This was heart work and head work braided together. đź’–đź’–đź’–
And let’s talk about partnership.
Dr. Amber Pendleton is the kind of leader who shows up curious, courageous, and committed. She holds vision without losing sight of people. She asks the hard questions and listens deeply to the answers. Working alongside her was not only seamless, it was energizing. When leadership is grounded, values-driven, and open to collaboration, real momentum is possible.
Weekends like this remind us why we do this work. Systems can heal. Teams can align. Strategy can be human-centered. And when healthcare leaders step back to reflect, reset, and reimagine, children and families ultimately benefit.
Grateful. Inspired. Ready for what’s next. 🌟
