It’s that time of year again! The University of Louisville Western Equestrian Team is kicking the region off with the first show of the season! We are very excited to be hosting our own IHSA show at Rea Quarter Horses located in Shelbyville, Kentucky on Saturday September 30!

With the 2017-2018 school year under way, we are excited to welcome all of our current members back and our new members to the teams!! New members are always welcome throughout the year, so it's never too late to join! Team horse shows and fundraisers will be starting again soon, so please keep a watch for that if you're interested. We're looking forward to another fantastic year at the University of Louisville!!

Join us for the March Riding and Racing Club meeting tomorrow March 1st! We will be discussing new fundraising opportunities for our club! Our speaker will be Emily Kinnard, HR Manager, and it will be in the College of Business room 344 at 12pm. As always there will be free pizza and beverages!

This year the Riding and Racing Club and all of the Equestrian Teams have the pleasure of being able to volunteer for the Kentucky Humane Society Equine C.A.R.E. Program again! This is the group that went out for the orientation at their farm to learn everything that we will be helping them do over these next few months. Very excited to be working with them again! Little Sebastian [the pony pictured] was a great hit with everyone!!

Congratulations to Erica Miller who place 1st in Walk/Trot this weekend at Regionals! She has now qualified for Semi Finals in North Carolina March 25th and 26th. Good luck to Erica!

Some girls on the Western Team have also qualified for regionals. Congrats to these ladies! They will be also at Morehead State University Saturday, February 25th competing along with the ladies who have qualified for regionals on the Hunt Seat Team. Regionals are combined for both Western and Hunt Seat. Good Luck to everyone showing on Saturday.

This past Saturday the Saddle Seat Team hosted a show at their farm in Prospect, KY. They were High Point Team, Sarah Lucas was Senior High Point Rider and Shelby Martin was Reserve High Point Rider. Congrats to everyone who showed!!
