Meet Sam Morgan ’27, a Meteorology and Atmospheric Science major, who has a passion for weather and climate. His passion and dedication at UMass Lowell have opened the doors to many opportunities, such as studying abroad in Iceland and participating in meteorological programs at the nation’s leading atmospheric sciences organizations.

Sam received one of 130 Ernest F. Hollings undergraduate scholarships from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Education. This scholarship allows him to attend national scientific conferences and receive a paid 10-week NOAA internship.

The exercise science major at UMass Lowell provides students with an education in the study of physical activity that helps prevent chronic diseases and improves quality of life and wellness for patients. Students can choose between four concentrations: Clinical Concentration, Strength and Conditioning, Pre-Physician Assistant Option and Exercise and Fitness Management Option.

Meet Thomas Warren ‘26, a Mechanical Engineering student who interned at Brooks Automation this summer, where he developed a key part for robots. He is also president of River Hawk Racing - the student club that is the university’s chapter of SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers). These experiences have helped him grow as an engineer and apply what he has learned in classes to real-world situations.
