Dear Alumni of the Department of Landscape Architecture and the Department of Park Administration and Landscape Architecture at Texas Tech University,

For each of the past several years, our students have organized and hosted WreckShop, a two-day event connecting students and industry professionals to learn together and expand our reach. With landmark celebrations at the university this year, this year’s WreckShop is going to be historic! In addition to the Centennial anniversary of Texas Tech University, we are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the accreditation of our Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree. The beloved Agricultural Pavilion also recently completed a major renovation to make it an even better studio space, and we want to commemorate that, too!

To properly recognize our shared history and memories, we need your help. If you have any pictures of you and your classmates from your time in the Department of Landscape Architecture or the Department of Park Administration and Landscape Architecture, whether in studio, working late nights on projects, or just hanging out, we would love to see and proudly highlight them at this year’s WreckShop on October 27. We would also love to see any drawings or memorabilia from your era at Texas Tech. Please send any pictures you may have to us at [email protected] by October 25.

WreckShop 2021 Registration is Now Open!
WreckShop 2021 kicks off with lectures and a reception on Thursday, October 21, and concludes on Saturday, October 23, with a celebratory Red Raider Football tailgate. We invite professionals and alumni to learn, network, and collaborate with our students and faculty. WreckShop will feature an expo for firms to share their work, a collaborative professional-student design charrette, portfolio review session to observe and interact with students, as well as social events and networking opportunities.
The theme for WreckShop this year is “Growth in Landscape Architecture”. The event coordinators will incorporate speakers and vendors in this great opportunity.
WreckShop will be held in conjunction with the home football game vs. Kansas State. We anticipate area hotels will sell out, please book in advance!
