The 5th Annual MBA Day at Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University brought together over 125 attendees including MBA alumni, current MBA students, and their families for a day of connection, networking, and professional growth.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to tour the state of the art Womble Football Center and South End Zone Building (Big 12 trophy photo ops included!), listen to our keynote speaker, Texas Tech Women's Basketball Coach, Krista Gerlich, discuss leadership and the historical Lady Raider season, tour the Rawls building, and finish out the day with tickets to watch the Lady Raiders softball team beat the Baylor Bears!

This day wouldn't be made possible without the support of Dean Williams and Dean Dass, our partnerships from Texas Tech Athletics, Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball, , , and the Rawls Grad Programs team!

Each year, MBA students from the Rawls Graduate Association at the Rawls College of Business participate in industry visits designed to bring classroom concepts to life.

During our most recent trips to Dallas and Austin, students engaged with leading organizations including ISN, CBRE, Hilltop Holdings, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Enterprise Mobility, Firefly Aerospace, Teacher Retirement System of Texas, Arrive Logistics, and Indeed.

These visits provided behind-the-scenes insights into a wide range of industries, along with candid conversations about career paths, day-to-day responsibilities, and the skills needed to succeed. Experiences like these go beyond traditional learning—offering meaningful networking opportunities and a clearer connection between MBA coursework and real-world application.

We are grateful to the organizations that hosted our students and generously shared their time and expertise. Thank you as well to the RGA leadership and faculty whose commitment makes these opportunities possible.

🌟 Student Spotlight: Lucia Montoto, On-Campus MBA

Lucia chose the Rawls College of Business to grow both professionally and personally. Through the program, she’s developing strong analytical and financial skills while gaining confidence as a leader.

She credits faculty like Dr. Hart for making a meaningful impact on her journey and helping her feel more confident working with numbers.

Lucia is also passionate about building relationships and taking on new challenges—advice she shares with future MBA students.

Fun fact: She’s been playing field hockey since she was young, which helped shape her teamwork and discipline.
