ALPHA GAMMA RHO Fraternity was founded nationally in 1908 at Ohio State University. The Beta Xi chapter was charted at Texas Tech University in 1983, and has been situated at its current location since the early 1980s. AGR is an agriculturally-based fraternity and enjoys a strong professional relationship with Texas Tech University College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources. A wide varie

ty of colleges and majors at TTU are represented within our brotherhood. AGR has a full social calendar each semester, which includes date nights, socials, band parties, tailgates, semi-formal and an annual formal. We host two philanthropies each year, and we actively participate in numerous others. Our brothers also participate in both fall and spring intramural sports. Scholarships are offered to new members and brothers as incentives for scholastic achievement. In addition, AGR strongly encourages involvement on campus and within the community. AGR brothers are currently affiliated with Student Government, CFFA, the Interfraternity Council, and many other organizations. Joining a fraternity at Texas Tech University is a great decision and can have a significant positive impact, not only on your college experience, but throughout your life. If you decide to become a brother of Alpha Gamma Rho, you will have the opportunity to build friendships that will last a lifetime. The positive influence of your fraternity experience will undoubtedly help you to achieve your potential as a student, and ultimately to become a better man.

We want to congratulate Cade Preston on being recognized as Brother of the Month for April 2026! Cade is a freshman from Weatherford, TX majoring in Agricultural & Applied Economics. He joined AGR this fall and currently serves as Vice Noble Ruler - Planning. He is also a member of AgriTechsans and serves as Ag Council Treasurer. Congratulations, Cade!

Friday, a few brothers attended and were recognized at the 2026 Davis College Ag Honors Banquet.

- Hunter Wernecke retired as Vice President of the Student Agricultural Council.
- Cade Preston was installed as the new Student Agricultural Council Treasurer.
- Isaac Duhon was recognized as Matador of the Month.
- Colter Pohlman was honored as the Outstanding Student for his major and the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics.
- Alpha Gamma Rho was recognized as the Davis College Fall 2025 Club of the Semester!
Special shoutout to Brady Flauaus & Cade Preston who have served as the Ag Council Representatives for AGR this year!

This month, we want to highlight our brother, Colter Pohlman! Colter is a senior double majoring in Agricultural & Applied Economics and Finance with a minor in Math. He joined AGR his freshman year and has remained actively involved for the past four years, including serving on the executive team for 2 years. Congratulations, Colter!

This past week, the brothers took part in the Texas Tech Davis College Winter Welcome Queso cook off and Mr. Davis College competition, securing Second place with their Queso and our own claiming the title of Mr. Davis College.

We would like to thank and for putting on this event and can’t wait for next year!
