The School of Nursing faculty and current students volunteered by giving tours, demonstrating simulations and sharing their own educational journeys with high school students from the area.

Congratulations to Lauren Barnett, MSN, RN, faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo who was named an honoree by Panhandle Great 25 Nurses!

Lauren grew up surrounded by nurses, including a grandmother and great-aunt who served as a Navy nurse. Nine years into her own career, she now teaches future nurses at the School of Nursing. Her goal is to help each student leave the classroom ready to care for patients with skill and compassion.

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track is an advanced nursing program designed to prepare registered nurses for a specialized role in mental health care. This program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with psychiatric and mental health disorders across the lifespan.

Kyleigh, a Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, is officially 25% nurse! Next up, level two! ✌️ Students in the Traditional BSN program study for four consecutive semesters (often called “levels”). The School of Nursing offers all four “levels,” of the Traditional BSN program in Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, Mansfield and Odessa.

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing values midwives and their role in shaping the future of health care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. The school’s MSN Nurse Midwifery Track prepares graduates to take the American Midwifery Certification Board exam.
