The South Plains College Surgical Technology Program is saddened by the passing of Andrea Hyatt.

Andrea graduated from our program in December 2025 and began her career at University Medical Center, training in Labor and Delivery. Since graduating, she continued to give back to our program, serving as an amazing mentor to the classes that followed her. Andrea’s personality brought so much laughter and happiness to our program, and her caring heart touched everyone around her.

Andrea will be deeply missed by her SPC family, classmates, coworkers, and the medical community.

Please join us in praying for her family, friends, coworkers, and classmates during this incredibly difficult time.

Services will be held in Lindsay, Texas. We will share additional information regarding the location, date, and time as it becomes available.

Yesterday we celebrated our end of summer clinical rotations with our annual potluck and water balloon fight! These students have worked hard and this is a fun way to celebrate and let off a little steam.
