WE DID IT, LUFKIN! 🎉

The Texas Commission on the Arts has officially designated the Lufkin Cultural District!

This milestone recognizes something our community already knows:
Art is in Our Nature. 💚

Our artists, cultural organizations, businesses, public spaces, events, and community partners have all helped build the creative community we’re celebrating today.

Official designation gives Lufkin an even stronger platform to grow cultural tourism, increase visibility, build partnerships, support artists and businesses, and pursue Cultural District Project funding opportunities.

This did not happen overnight. It happened because people across Lufkin believed in the value of art, culture, creativity, and community.

Thank you for helping make this possible.

🎉 Celebrating Our Newest Nonprofit Leadership Management Certificate Recipients! 🎉

The Angelina College Nonprofit Leadership Center recently celebrated seven nonprofit and community leaders who completed the Nonprofit Leadership Management Certificate!

🎓 Kim Bartel – Alcohol & Drug Awareness Council
🎓 Jansen Davis – Angelina Arts Alliance
🎓 Jakoya Grimes – Alcohol & Drug Awareness Council
🎓 Jack Knox – First Christian Church
🎓 Shanie Sanford – Pregnancy Help Center of Lufkin
🎓 Charlotte Stanaland – Alcohol & Drug Awareness Council
🎓 Shelly Tole-Barnes – Alcohol & Drug Awareness Council

Each recipient completed the NPLC’s six core courses, each consisting of eight hours of instruction, along with a minimum of two elective courses totaling at least eight hours of additional instruction. This accomplishment represents a significant investment of time and a commitment to continued learning, stronger leadership, and service to the organizations and communities they represent.
