Whether you’re a community leader, educator, Extension professional, homeowner, or simply want to better understand flood risk and insurance, join us for a free webinar this Wednesday!

LSU AgCenter’s LaHouse Research & Education Center will introduce its new National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Literacy Curriculum, with information and resources on flood risk, flood insurance policies, claims, mitigation, the Community Rating System, and more.

We’ll also show how the curriculum and resources can be used to help increase flood insurance literacy in communities across the country.

🎃One of our FAVORITE events of the year🎃

If your business would like to participate in this free community event please call or email our office

Grab your costumes and join us for Party with the Pumpkins on Tuesday, October 27th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Lutcher Park. This is a FREE trick or treating event that is open to ALL AGES. Participants do not have to be registered 4-H members in order to attend. Everyone is invited! We will have local businesses and companies from neighboring parishes handing out candy, trinkets and more. We can't wait to see everyone in their funny, scary and unique costumes!

The 2027 Louisiana Native Plant Conference is coming March 5–7 at the Solomon Center in Loranger!

Spend the weekend learning, exploring and connecting with fellow native plant enthusiasts. This year’s conference will include speakers, field trips, learning sessions, a native plant sale, silent auction, book share and more.

We’ll also celebrate LNPS Founding Member Dr. Charles M. Allen and his remarkable contributions to Louisiana native plant knowledge.

LDWF’s annual 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿-𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 (𝗙𝗨𝗡) 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 is coming up 𝗢𝗰𝘁. 𝟭𝟲–𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at 𝗪𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗲!

🏕️ The camp gives mothers and their children ages 10–13 a chance to spend a weekend outdoors together, strengthen family bonds and build outdoor skills.

🍽️ Meals, lodging and supplies, including tents, are provided. Participants should bring their own bed linens and sleeping bags.
