For Liberty Law’s second convocation of the new semester, Dean Todd led students through Exodus 2, continuing the theme of lawyers as prophets by looking at the life of Moses. He challenged students to consider what it means to see rightly and act rightly, emphasizing both the responsibilities and temptations that accompany the legal calling. Dean Todd encouraged students to pursue justice faithfully while guarding against the temptation to let the pursuit of a good end justify unlawful or improper means. Through worship, Scripture reading, and his message, students were reminded that true justice begins with reliance on the Lord, looking to Him for the strength, wisdom, and direction needed to administer justice faithfully.

This past Wednesday, Liberty Law hosted its first Convocation of the 2026-27 school year! After worship, Associate Dean Caruso opened the program, and Acts 7:20-35 was read by Melanie Lamm. Dean Timothy Todd then introduced this year’s topic: “The Lawyer as Prophet.” Using the book of Exodus and Moses’ example within those Scriptures, Dean Todd walked students through the life cycle of a prophet — being called, trained, sent, and kept. He emphasized prophets as forthtellers — those who proclaim truths and expose injustices through God’s revelation — and contended that Liberty Law students are also appointed to this calling. Thank you to all students who attended, and we hope you will continue to join us each Wednesday as God trains you for your future law professions.
