National Student Exchange at Northern Vermont University-Johnson Usually pay NVU tuition at one of 165+ out-of-state schools. Where will YOU go? Go explore a new part of the country while staying in school!

The National Student Exchange Program (NSE) will make it happen! College is a great time to get some traveling in, and The National Student Exchange (NSE) can help you do it while still working towards graduation. Available for one semester or whole year trips, NSE gives you the chance to explore a new community, climate and culture, often at JSC tuition prices. As an NSE participant, you’ll get t

he chance to study at one of nearly 200 colleges and universities within the United States, U.S. territories and some Canadian provinces for up to one calendar year. Courses taken at your host school will appear on your JSC transcript, and the memories and friends you make will help shape your perspective for the rest of your life. Students participate in NSE to:

Broaden personal and educational perspectives
Explore and appreciate new cultures
Widen university boundaries
Take courses not offered at the JSC
Learn from different professors
Access courses with different perspectives
Explore new areas of study
Experience personal growth
Break out of their comfort zones
Live in a different geographical area
Investigate graduate or professional schools
Look for future employment opportunities
Become more independent and resourceful

Are you eligible? The application process includes the following minimum eligibility criteria established by NSE:

Full-time enrollment at Johnson State College semester prior to exchange
Cumulative 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale)
Good standing (academic, personal, and financial)
