Outdoor Education, Leadership, and Tourism is an academic major at Vermont State University Lyndon where students can earn Bachelor of Science or Associates degrees, or one of several academic minors. Formerly known as Lyndon State College's Mountain Recreation Management Program and Johnson State College's Outdoor Education Program, OELT is a "mash-up" providing students the best of both, while g
iving them the experience and expertise to succeed in the outdoor industry and related careers, and in life. We are proud of our alumni, many who are leaders in the outdoor field, and others whose diverse careers and success were influenced in some part by their experience with us. The program is now located exclusively on the Lyndon campus in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, with easy access to exceptional outdoor recreation resources in Vermont, New Hampshire, Canada, and Maine. Baccalaureate program concentrations include: Adventure Education, Mountain Resort Management (with Resort Management or Mountain Operations), or both (dual concentration). There is an Associates of Science in Mountain Resort Management, and minors in Adventure Education or Wilderness Leadership.
