Alpha Tau Omega was founded by three cadets at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA. ATO was created immediately after the Civil War in 1865 to help reunite the North and South among college men. The Fraternity’s founders believed their effort would be successful only if members lived by Judeo-Christian principles upon which the Fraternity is based. The Alpha Zeta Chapter was founded i

n 1880 while founder Otis Allan Glazebrook was the rector at Christ Church in downtown Macon, and his son Larkin was our chapter's very first initiate. Over our 130 year existence, Alpha Zeta has proven itself to be an excellent chapter not only at Mercer but also in the nation, winning multiple campus awards and national True Merit awards

Our chapter enjoyed a week long trip to Destin, Florida! The week was full of fun and it was a great way to end off a successful semester!

2025 𝓒𝓪𝓶𝓹𝓾𝓼 𝓛𝓲𝓯𝓮 𝓐𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓭𝓼 🏆
We finished off the school year with 3 awards. As a chapter, we earned the 2025 Chapter of Excellence Award, Brother Nolan Barnes won Fraternity Man of the Year, and Eric O’dell won Chapter Advisor of the Year! We are grateful to be recognized for these prestigious awards and we look forward to continuing our success into the upcoming school year!
