Middle Georgia State University and theMuseum of Aviation Robins AFB, Warner Robins, GA are preserving the 483rd Bomb Group Collection, giving students hands-on experience with WWII history. The partners were also named recipients of a National DAR Historic Preservation Award.

Kelsey Griffin, who is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science & Management at , is featured in a TIME roundup of people whose lives have been shaped by 9/11.

She is a recipient of the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation Scholarship, established in memory of the United Airlines Flight 93 pilot.

“I was drawn to the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation Scholarship because of their mission to empower future aviators. He was an African American pilot, and a first officer for United Airlines on Flight 93.”
