Sigma Phi Society - Alpha of Wisconsin

Sigma Phi Society - Alpha of Wisconsin Sigma Phi is a social fraternity based at the University of Wisconsin -Madison. Our house is located at 106 N Prospect. Contact a Rush Chair for more info.

The Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi was founded in Madison on Halloween 1908, and has been in its present location at the Harold C. Bradley house several blocks west of Camp Randall Stadium since 1915. The house is a registered National Landmark, and the society takes great pride in having resided in such a beautiful historic location for so long. As a social fraternity, Sigma Phi has a strong presence

on campus. The chapter maintains an average of around 30 active members - large enough for continuity but small enough to promote close friendship among all the active members. You can find students with a diverse range of majors in engineering, business, economics, journalism, and many others in Sigma Phi along with members from all areas of the country. Joining Sigma Phi will give you lifelong friendships, opportunities for leadership positions, strong academic resources and connections with alumni, and overall some of the best 4 years of memories you can hope to have. For more information on becoming part of Sigma Phi, feel free to contact a rush chair of the fraternity to get involved in the Fall 2016 Rush. Hope to see you here! Sigma Phi Society is excited to share information about our recent Philanthropy Weekend that raised money and donated time to three great organizations.

The Alpha of Wisconsin is proud to announce that our Humorology cast took 3rd place at the annual show this past weekend. Congrats to our director Sean Benedict (F'16) and the Sigs that participated Zane Matz, Hadi Hashemi, and Max Sanchez (F'16)! They put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears and the cast raised $15,000 for the Rainbow Project to combat mental health and domestic violence. In addition, our Sigma Phi Relay for Life team met our goal and raised $1,200 for the American Cancer Society. That puts us in the top 15% of registered teams. Thanks to Walker Fanning (F'14), Evan Pohlkamp (F'15), Simon France, Matt Dornink (both F'16), Joud Jarjour, and Andrew Riss (both F,17). To top it off, 7 Sigs volunteered for 3 hours at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Madison. Simon France, Brendan Provo, Hadi Hashemi, Zane Matz, Max Sanchez, Carlo Romagnolo (all F'16), and Joud Jarjour (F'17) helped repackage frozen pizzas to ship to food pantries to feed low-income families throughout Dane County.

Over the course of the weekend, Sigma Phi's philanthropy and community service efforts helped benefit three great organizations that do fantastic work throughout the state of Wisconsin and Dane County. We look to continue working with these groups and to expand to some other great non-profits in the Madison area as our chapter continues to grow.
