Dr. Andy Behrens was invited to present on June 18th at the Cells to Code 2026 Professional Development for Teachers Professional Development meeting hosted by Sanford PROMISE.
This event introduces secondary education teachers to the intersection of computational thinking and biomedical research, emphasizing practical, classroom-ready applications. Andy’s presentation will contribute to the goal for teachers to leave with a better understanding of why AI literacy is important for today's students and how these technologies are already influencing careers. The event will help teachers inspire students to think critically, creatively, and analytically and become comfortable with the technologies now to better prepare them for future opportunities.
Andy will share comments about:
• How AI is currently being used in his work and in healthcare.
• What questions he and his team are actively trying to answer about AI adoption and usage.
• What he is currently learning as AI tools continue to evolve.
• His thoughts on how AI usage may change over the next 1 year, 5 years, and even 25 years.
