Today was Professors in Pink, where we raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by having students bid on costume items for their professors to wear while they teach. Here are just a few highlights from this year’s event. Thank you to all of the students who donated to a great cause and a special thanks to the professors who were so willing to participate!

Chumani Mokoena (pictured middle), who is from South Africa, wanted to pursue an engineering education in the U.S., and UW-Madison’s highly ranked nuclear engineering program stood out.

His dream was made possible by the King-Morgridge Scholars Program, a competitive international scholarship program that supports exceptionally driven incoming students, dedicated to poverty alleviation in their home countries.

Thank you University of Illinois’ ANS student chapter for letting some of our members take a virtual reality tour of Illinois’ previous research reactor, fly a drone, create a plasma, see a giant concrete crusher and even sit in on a lecture!

Just a friendly reminder that our Spring kickoff meeting is tomorrow, February 1st, at 6:00pm in 106 Engineering Research Building. Come learn what our ANS student chapter plans to do this spring semester. As always, there will be free food, and even a fun Pictionary social afterwards (coordinated by Vice President Kendall Barrett).🙂
