Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship-UW Madison We are a resource for graduate and undergraduate students interested in entrepreneurship.

The Weinert Center at the University of Wisconsin School of Business is dedicated to teaching, research, and service pertaining to entrepreneurial management and enterprise development Students from across the campus take classes in entrepreneurship and other related topics in preparation for roles as business owners and managers, corporate intrapreneurs, or consultants to smaller businesses. We a

re proud to have been named one of the top entrepreneurship programs by the Princeton Review, Financial Times and the United States of America Small Business Entrepreneurship (USASBE). This level of excellence provides students with skills to be successful throughout their career. It has also resulted in almost 1,000 student projects with local firms where the students gain hands-on experience.

Joe discussed how Vortex was created by his father and the strategy went into its success. Over the past 25 years, Joe helped to shape Vortex by leading with a people first mindset. She worked in consulting for 12+, but after an inspiring trip to Peru, she recognized the opportunity to empower women artisans by connection their skills to global markets. This inspiration led to her launching Campo, a company dedicated to producing high quality alpaca appeal that is driving positive social change. This week, Mike Trigg, Author, Angel Investor & Entrepreneurship Coach, shared his story at our Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunch Program.

Mike spoke about his career journey, beginning in politics before transitioning into leadership roles at major tech companies and eventually pursuing his own entrepreneurial ventures. In addition to his entrepreneurial work, he is also a published novelist and angel investor. Reflecting on his path, he emphasized how exploring different industries and opportunities helped shape the career he has today. Mike emphasized having resilience, being resourceful, rule breaking, and having an irrational belief in yourself or idea.
