We, the students, alumni, and faculty, along with residents of the state of Wisconsin and those who support diversity in ethnic studies call University of Wisconsin-Madison to establish a Hmong American Studies Program that fosters a Hmong American Studies Certificate. The Hmong are underrepresented in the academic curriculum on campus even though they have been in the United States for over 40 ye

ars, and they make up the largest proportion of the Asian population in Wisconsin. To accomplish the Wisconsin Idea which fosters intercultural learning and to enhance the Diversity Framework which promotes inclusion, it is necessary for the University to establish a Hmong American Studies Program.

Are you passionate about culture, advocacy, and community? Join HMASC (HMoob American Studies/Student Committee) — a student-led organization that is dedicated to uplifting HMoob voices through education, and social justice work. We plan events, advocate for HMoob studies, and create space for all students to share their experiences!
