Lia M., genetics and genomics major, lived "La dolce vita" during her spring semester on the UW in Florence program! 🇮🇹

Surrounded by Tuscan hills and bridging the Arno River, the streets of Florence act as a living museum to great cultural traditions and historical monuments 🏛️
You will complete 13-16 credits on this program, with two courses taught by a UW professor! Your academics will extend beyond the classroom with field trips within the area. 📚️

🗨️ "The professors are focused on creating an immersive learning experience, where a lot of the learning does not actually take place in the classroom. Instead of learning through lectures, readings, and videos, I learned through doing."

Study Abroad Program: UW Environmental Ethics and Indigenous Rights in Ecuador

Leah will be taking over the Instagram stories this Friday, May 29, from Ecuador! 🇪🇨

💬 "One goal I have is to learn from and connect with the local Indigenous activists who are at the forefront of the fight against extractive industries. Their invaluable perspective and knowledge surrounding cultural and environmental resilience are something I'm really excited to learn about.

"I chose this program because it is the culmination of my personal and professional interests. Grassroots community organizing and environmental justice are where I see myself in the future.
