More than 450 educators from across South Dakota and the region came together for the 11th Annual DSU Teach Camp, a day dedicated to learning, collaboration, and preparing for the future of education.

From exploring artificial intelligence and innovative teaching strategies to gaining fresh perspectives on leadership, literacy, and student engagement, participants invested in professional growth that will impact classrooms for years to come.

This week, middle school girls 👧 from across the region explored what’s possible in 💻 cybersecurity and technology at DSU Cyber Camp for Middle School Girls.

Through hands-on experiences in 🤖 AI, digital forensics, cryptography, coding, and website development, these future innovators built skills, gained confidence, and discovered new opportunities for their future. The energy, curiosity, and determination they brought to campus were inspiring to witness.

An A+ effort starts with A+ preparation.

Our Elementary Education 🍎 program has earned an A+ rating from the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) for excellence in preparing future teachers to teach reading 📚 through evidence-based instruction. We were one of only two programs in South Dakota to receive the distinction in NCTQ’s 2026 Teacher Prep Review.

What started as a hobby has become a powerful way to support groundbreaking research.

Ph.D. student Tyler Schroder recently received $17,000 in scholarship support through the amateur radio community, helping advance his research in cyber defense, brain-computer interface ethics, and volunteer cyber response efforts. His journey shows how passion, curiosity, and hands-on learning can open unexpected doors.
