Are you just wanting to learn basic embroidery stitches? Are you wanting to create that special senior shirt or pants? Do you want to embellish some other piece of fabric? Come learn the basic embroidery stitches and how you can incorporate them into projects on July 14 from 2:00-4:00! Then, if you want to start a project with space and time to complete it, come back on July 15th or July 16th. The only supplies offered are needles, limited thread, and a template for the basic stitches.

It was a pleasure to bring two breeds of dairy goats (Nubian and Lamancha) to Kids R Us in Brookhaven today in order to show kids farm animals and to talk about where milk comes from. The children loved interacting with the goat girls: Daphne and Bingo. I enjoyed teaching kids about goats and milk. Thank you Tristan Peavey with Lincoln County Extension Office for the extra set of hands! It is definitely a team effort with Extension.

Check out the MS 4-H Food Plot Contest! 🦌🌱

The 4-H Wildlife Food Plot Project is a self-study independent activity in which youth learn to prepare, establish, maintain, and observe a food plot using provided seed for the purpose of providing food and cover for wildlife. Participants apply concepts from wildlife and plant science, art, technology, math, communications, and more. Those who compete for recognition submit their project book, a short video about their project, and arrange for a site visit with a local county Extension agent. Top Juniors and Seniors are recognized on the District and State Level. Seeds will be provided to those that register compliments of Pennington Seed Company and will be distributed in the month of August to Extension Agents in each County to pass along to the youth involved.

The registration page (QR code below and on announcement) is open now and closes on July 31st. A registration fee of $10 must be paid when registering on the online form.

Our terrarium workshop was a great success! 🌿

County Agent Brent Breland taught the participants the basics of creating and caring for their own miniature ecosystems while adding their own creative touch to each design. We had a wonderful time seeing everyone’s unique terrariums come to life!
