“Knowing how to think empowers you far beyond those who only know what to think” - Neil deGrasse Tyson

Convergent Thinking teaches you what to think. The purpose of this form of thinking is to discover the right answer to a question. Every standardized test you’ve ever taken is an example of a Convergent Thinking test.

In contrast Divergent Thinking is the ability to take a complex question, brainstorm ideas, and come up with a creative and original answer. A question like: how do I turn my business idea into a reality?

While there are many great starting points for any business idea there isn’t one correct answer to this question. At Divergent U we don’t simply give you information that you could find for free on the internet. We facilitate group workshops and discussions that encourage you to use your creativity and problem solving ability in real world scenarios that apply to your own life.

In short if you attend a Divergent U program you will develop your ability to think for yourself and in doing so open the doorway for bigger in better goals than you previously thought possible.

Overview:

Divergent U is an alternative university in Central Florida looking for a results-driven, motivated, and energetic Account Executive that will evolve into the leader of our sales organization. At the inception of their role, they will qualify prospects and acquire new business to meet and exceed established revenue goals. In addition, they will collaborate with our leadership on how to optimize our sales process and flow. As our company grows, our intent is that this role grows with it and will evolve into the sales leader of our organization.

Our Account Executive will have no fear of reaching out directly to warm customer leads, adapting sales techniques to meet customer needs, and participating in sales training and professional development opportunities.

The Job:

Articulate and sell Divergent U products & services to prospective customers

Reach out to potential customers through voice, text, and social channels

Foster positive customer relationships to ensure future sales

Achieve sales targets and outcomes on schedule

Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners

Track leads and status reports

Report to leadership with information on customer needs, problems, and interests

Close sales opportunities, meet sales goals, and track goals in CRM

Provide feedback for process improvement

Close sales

About You:

3-5 years of successful B2C sales experience

Proficiency with MS Office and Google Drive/Docs/Sheets

Familiarity with CRM practices. HubSpot is a plus

Embraces a culture of rapid growth

Ability to build productive, positive, & professional relationships

Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills

Prioritization, time management, and organizational skills

Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

A great attitude and eagerness to learn

Self-motivated with a positive attitude

All 10 of these are Divergent Thinking skills yet your entire education from youth college taught you using convergent thinking and standardized test taking.

Using the Divergent Thinking Model we start with your values. Who are you? What do you find meaningful? Once we establish your values we look at your goals. Where are you headed? From that we will attempt a creative process to achieve the goal. The attempt of creative processes is the core of divergent thinking. Your education system didn't teach you to be creative. It taught you how to follow directions.

Our students set their own rules as entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow.

If you're ready to learn the ways of today's world rather than yesterday's world then study Divergent Thinking. We'll be posting plenty more frameworks to study but the best way to learn this is in a class with 6-9 other inspiring people. Take action on your future. It's time.

Kristina made a decision in August of 2019 to change her life. Since graduating Divergent U's 12 Limitations class in December she's gone on to create her dream life!

Kristina started her brand Living Lunar to coach women who have experienced or are experiencing trauma. She's an incredible thought leader on the topic and brings a very unique and powerful perspective to the conversation.
