Matt Godshall is a sophomore from Pasadena, California. He is a recently declared Biology major. Matt was involved in the Pepperdine Choir last year and will be working with The Graphic this year. Matt is in the process of organizing a program called Colleges Against Global Poverty, which will raise funds to provide aid for those around the world facing extreme poverty. Elyse Sartor is a senior Nutritional Sciences major. She studied in Heidelberg, Germany for the 2011 academic school year. She is involved in Student Dietetic Association and International Missions. As a Visiting Scholar at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services she researched and presented on food science, clinical conditions, and policy related to gluten. Stephanie spent the 2012 fall semester studying abroad in Lausanne, Switzerland. Mitch Bennett is a junior from Denver, Colorado. He is an International Business and Economics double Major with an Applied Mathematics minor. Mitch served as the RA for the Shanghai, China program in the 2012 academic year. He operates as the Events Coordinator for the Pepperdine Ambassador Council, the VP of Administration for the Inter-Club Council and is expanding the newly founded Pepperdine Investment Club. Mitch enjoys cooking and eating food. A lot. He loves traveling, rock climbing and time with his SigEp brothers. Brianna Manes is a senior Biology major. She traveled to Fiji with the Pepperdine Medical Mission in the summer of 2011 and spent the 2011 fall semester in Lausanne, Switzerland. She has been involved in two summers of biology research at Pepperdine, working with Dr. Jay Brewster on the effect of Nano particulate air pollution on human alveolar lung cells. Brianna has also been involved with the origination of Happy Feet Clinic, a non-profit organization founded by Pepperdine students to wash the feet of the homeless in Malibu and replace their old socks and shoes with new ones. Alessandra McDowell is serving as the Chair of the Executive Board. Alessandra is a senior Psychology major, Sports Medicine minor. She served on the Fiji Medical Mission in the summer of 2011 and spent the 2011 semester in Lausanne, Switzerland. She has been a research assistant under professors whose projects included work on traumatic brain injury, the cognitive effects of arousal on memory and the relationship between exercise and cognition in aging individuals. She is excited to culminate her research experience at Pepperdine by presenting the results of her own study on the relationship between handedness and long-term memory task performance. Alessandra is an active member of her sorority, involved in the Neuroscience Club, a recently converted hiking enthusiast, and a connoisseur of fine French cheeses.
