Geisel Library at Saint Anselm College

Geisel Library at Saint Anselm College Supporting the curriculum at Saint Anselm College. from Saint Mary's Abbey in Newark, New Jersey.

The impressive collection of today's Geisel Library originated in a sack of books brought by Father Hugo Paff, O.S.B. What has become the Geisel Library was simply "the library" on the first floor when Alumni Hall opened in 1893. After World War II, Joseph Geisel, a prominent Manchester businessman and public official, made the commitment to underwrite the cost of construction for a new College li

brary. Work began in 1959, and the Geisel Library opened its doors in the fall of 1960. In the years since Geisel Library was built, the facility has been expanded twice: once in 1973 and again in 1992. 2012 saw significant interior renovations to accommodate a new learning commons. Through the years, the Geisel Library has grown not only in its physical stature, but in its commitment to providing the best available resources and a high level of service to the Saint Anselm community.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Archives is pleased to announce the digitization of two volumes of artist obituaries from our archives, spanning the years between 1906 to 1929.

The obituaries were pasted into two large scrapbook volumes that grew to contain more than 300 densely packed pages, which were photographed by Museum Archives staff. Digital access to these materials allows online readers to page through these fragile books, that are otherwise a challenge to handle.

It’s a stunningly beautiful day out!Come on down and play corn hole or sign the beam or pet-a-pooch (3-4)!
