Christopher Edwards is a Kansas State University Physician Assistant student in the Class of 2028. Passionate about patient-centered care and professional growth, Christopher is building the skills to become a compassionate and dedicated future PA. Read more about him below!

About Me: My name is Chris Edwards, and I’m from Iowa Park, Texas. Before starting PA school, I served four years in the United States Air Force, where I had the opportunity to travel around the world and meet incredible people. After leaving the Air Force, I worked as a medical scribe in Cardiology and Dermatology. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Education: I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2024 with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Biology.

Plans after becoming a PA: After PA school, I hope to watch the next Summer Olympics in person, since they will begin shortly after graduation and be hosted in the United States. I’m currently interested in Emergency Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, although that may change once I begin clinical rotations.

Fun Fact: I’ve lived in more countries than states! I’ve lived in the United States, South Korea, England, and Cyprus, while living in only two states, Texas and Kansas.

A few of our K-State PA students attended the AAPA Conference over break in New Orleans! While there, they had the opportunity to attend clinical workshops, hear from leaders in healthcare, explore the latest medical innovations, participate in professional development sessions, and network with fellow PA students and providers from across the country.

We appreciate them for representing K-State so well and bringing back valuable knowledge and experiences to our program!

What began as a dream has now become a remarkable achievement earned through resilience, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the calling of medicine.

“Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity.” — Hippocrates

“The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” — William Osler

“To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.” — Edward Livingston Trudeau

“The physician should not treat the disease but the patient who is suffering from it.” — Maimonides

“People pay the doctor for his trouble; for his kindness they still remain in his debt.” — Seneca

Your faculty and staff are so proud of each of you and the perseverance, integrity, and compassion you demonstrated throughout this journey. Yesterday was more than a graduation — it was the beginning of lives dedicated to healing, advocacy, and service.

May you carry forward the knowledge you gained, the humility to keep learning, and the humanity that makes medicine meaningful.

Congratulations again to the K-State PA Class of 2026. Your future patients will be fortunate to have you care for them.

🌟 Student Spotlight 🌟

Today we’re highlighting Ms. Dina Duran from the K-State PA Class of 2028!

Dina’s passion for patient care, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the PA profession continue to inspire the K-State PA community. We are excited to follow her journey and celebrate the impact she will make in healthcare.

Hi! My name is Dina Duran, and I’m from Overland Park, KS. Before PA school, I worked as a medical assistant in an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic, and prior to that, as a CNA in Springdale. I also volunteered at a children’s hospital. In my free time, I love going on walks, hanging out with friends, playing card games, and calling my family.

Education – I graduated from University of Arkansas in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Psychology.

Plans after becoming a PA – I plan to travel a bit before getting into the swing of things. As far as specializing, I’m keeping an open mind and very much look forward to exploring different fields during rotations.

Fun fact – I went skydiving in Las Vegas with my family last year!

Meet Lauren Dreyer, a Kansas State PA student, Class of 2028, passionate about patient care and making a difference one patient at a time.

About me: Hi! My name is Lauren Dreyer and I am from Omaha, Nebraska. Before PA school I worked as a medical assistant/scribe in ophthalmology in both Kansas City and Tampa, FL! In my free time, I like to work out, spend time with my friends and family, try new recipes, and travel whenever I can!

Education: I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Human Biology and a minor in Psychology in May of 2023.

Plans after becoming a PA: After PA school, I hope to take some time off and travel (hopefully my first trip to Europe) before I start working. I have interest in working in a pediatric specialty or sports medicine in the future, but am pretty open to anything, since my preferences may change after clinicals start!

Fun Fact: The only bone I’ve ever broken is my skull!

A day late, but the gratitude is always right on time 💜

Happy Doctors’ Day to all the incredible physicians who continue to shape the future of medicine. The Physician Assistant profession was built on a foundation inspired by the MD model, and we remain deeply grateful for the vision, mentorship, and collaboration that made our profession possible.

To the physicians who teach, guide, and support our students as preceptors—thank you for investing your time, knowledge, and trust. Your impact extends far beyond the clinical setting and helps shape the next generation of compassionate, skilled providers.

We are proud to learn from you, work alongside you, and continue growing together in the spirit of patient-centered care.
