Congratulations, Dr. Hazel DeWee! πŸŽ“

Hazel has earned her Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy from the School of Human Sciences at Kansas State University. Her dissertation, "Family relational dynamics and young adult outcomes: the mediating role of adolescent emotion regulation," explores how family communication and relationships during adolescence shape outcomes into young adulthood.

Hazel was advised by Major Professor Dr. Glade Topham and credits the entire CFT faculty community for supporting her along the way. We are so proud of everything she has accomplished and look forward to seeing her continue to teach, supervise, and mentor the next generation of students!

We are so proud of our PhD student Fatemeh SadeghMohammadi, whose newly published research in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence uncovered a direct pathway between collectivistic cultural values, internalized stigma around help-seeking, and emotional abuse victimization in romantic relationships.

Her work gives language to something millions of people live but have never been able to name, and we could not be more excited to see it out in the world. πŸ’œ

Swipe through to read the full story, and join us in celebrating Fatemeh and her co-researchers Ehsan Khorasani and Dr. Chelsea Spencer. πŸŽ‰
