Senior Spotlight: Alexa Murray
Alexa is a senior getting her BFA in Visual Communication Design with a minor in Marketing. This summer she is interning at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City and hopes to find a fill-time position working at a small printing press after that. Alexa is also involved in Prairie Fire Printmakers and is one of our Art Ambassadors. Her advice for incoming freshmen is to not be afraid to talk to your classmates, at the end of the day we’re all in the same boat of loving art!

Grateful for our Art Ambassadors this year and looking forward to next! We have several graduating: Alexa Murray, Layne McAfee, Megan Murphy, and Mallorie Wisbey. We will miss them and wish them all the best!

Senior Spotlight: Lacie Kohman

Lacie is a senior pursuing her BFA in Printmaking with a minor in Studio Drawing. After graduation, she plans to move to Colorado and continue developing her art. Lacie is also involved in Prairie Fire Printmakers, Painting Society, and Spot Fire Press. Her favorite classes in the Department of Art have been Printmaking and Art History. Lacie’s advice for incoming freshmen is if you hear a voice within you say, “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.

Laurel is a senior pursuing her BFA in Painting and Printmaking. After graduation, she plans to get her master’s while still doing freelance work on the side. Her favorite class in the Department of Art has been Advanced Painting. Senior Spotlight: Logan Sprague

Logan is a senior pursuing his BFA in Photography, with a secondary focus in Drawing. After graduation, he hopes to continue developing his photography practice and exhibit his work in galleries. His favorite class in the Art Department has been Topics in Analog Photography. Logan encourages incoming freshmen to be multidisciplinary and explore a wide range of classes to discover new interests and expand their creative perspective!
