Day 7 - Wrapped up our first full week in Spain! For our free Sunday, some of us took a hike for great views of Pamplona, others took a leisurely walk around the city walls and parks with Profe. Bender, and a few enjoyed a relaxing day at the residence halls finishing laundry, unpacking, and prepping for class tomorrow!

Day 6 - We started off our first full day in Pamplona sleeping in a bit, then taking a big walking loop around the city to see the University, Ciudadela park, and the “casco antiguo,” where we ran into some Gigantes y Cabezudos before getting our first round of Pamplona Pintxos. PLUS we figured out the laundry system and got some basics for our rooms.

Day 5 - Adios, Madrid!! We started our last hot day in the city at the Madrid History Museum (taking selfies with something we liked/learned!), then had a final free afternoon to explore Malasaña and Chueca neighborhoods, shop, enjoy a “menú del día,” and find gluten-free cinnamon rolls. A few even made time to see Picasso’s Guernica. After a train delay in Madrid, we arrived to our new homes in Pamplona around 10pm - just in time for dinner!

Day 4 - Today’s main tour with Pedro was the Royal Palace, but first we stopped and bought cookies from cloistered nuns and visited San Francisco el Grande. Several of us found a “menu del día” for lunch, then we packed our bags and siesta-ed before our final group dinner in Madrid!

Day 3 : Spent the day exploring Toledo and had some very “Spanish” changes in plans. The Cathedral was unexpectedly closed due to the Kind & Queen visiting, and the Lebanese/Syrian restaurant that’s been an annual favorite was also closed for a religious holiday - but we got to learn about El Greco’s “Burial of Conde Orgaz” and the Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue instead, plus enjoy a lunch of pizzas (with scissors!), salads, and ICE water, before spending the afternoon shopping to escape the 96 degree heat! We might be a bit tired tonight! 😃
