TOMORROW! At 4:00 pm CT (6:00 pm in Paraguay) Emily is going to talk a little bit about our beautiful country and our rich culture during the International Coffee Hour organized by the ISSS of K-State!

Normally, during the International Coffee Hours events, the presenter would offer a small sample of their country. However, since this year the presentation is going to be via Zoom we won’t be able to provide you with some delicious Paraguayan food. BUT, assuming we could, which food would you like to have? Which traditional food is your favorite?

We are happy to share with you that students decided to donate their used textbooks to a common library so other students can make use of them in the future, this is how PSA Library was created. With this, we expect to help a lot of students in the following semesters and continue renovating the shelves as students keep donating! If you have any books you would like to donate, send us a message! We will be more than happy to hear from you.

Nos complace compartir con usted que los estudiantes decidieron donar sus libros de texto usados a una biblioteca común para que otros estudiantes puedan usarlos en el futuro, así es como se creó la Biblioteca PSA. Con esto tenemos como objetivo ayudar a muchos estudiantes en lo siguiente semestres y continuar renovando los estantes mediante las futuras donaciones de los estudiantes. Si tenes algún libro que le gustaría donar, ¡envíenos un mensaje! Estaremos más que felices de saber de usted.

"Al contemplarte, nuestras almas llenas de entusiasmo te veneran y aclaman en este día."

El 25 de noviembre de 1842, el Congreso General Extraordinario del Parlamento nacional hacia oficial la creación y adopción de la bandera nacional, desde entonces hace brillar sus tres colores emblemáticos: el rojo, simbolizando la justicia, el blanco, simbolizando la paz y el azul, representando la libertad. Una particularidad de la bandera paraguaya es que el escudo que lleva en el anverso es distinto al escudo que lleva en el reverso, siendo así la única bandera oficial nacional en el mundo con dicha característica.

Hoy, 177 años más tarde admiramos sus colores y celebramos su día trabajando por un país mejor. Feliz 14 de agosto para todos los que llevan tus escudos en el corazón!

Compartimos unos infographics que explican detalladamente los posibles impactos que ocasionarán las nuevas regulaciones establecidas por el gobierno estadounidense (ICE).

Como asociación paraguaya de alumnos residiendo en los Estados Unidos nos entristece ver la forma en que el gobierno estadounidense está creando cada vez más restricciones a los alumnos internacionales que se están esforzando para conseguir una mejor educación. Solicitamos a Kansas State University y a todas las universidades que cuyos salones están parcialmente integrados por alumnos internacionales que juntos combatan las decisiones tomadas por ICE y así, hacernos sentir verdaderamente bienvenidos al país.

We would like to share with you some infographics that explain in detail the possible impacts that the new regulations established by the US government (ICE) may cause.

As a Paraguayan association of students residing in the United States, we are saddened to see how the US government is creating even more restrictions on international students who are working hard to obtain a better education. We ask Kansas State University and all the universities whose classrooms are partially integrated by international students to together fight the decisions made by ICE and thus make us feel truly welcome to the country.

GRADUACIÓN SPRING 2020: Quizás no sea como lo planeaste, es probable que hoy no te sea posible estar físicamente con quienes te apoyaron durante todo este largo camino, pero no dejes que lo inesperado supere a la emoción, al orgullo, a la alegría, a la satisfacción y al compromiso que implica poder decir que ya te has graduado!! 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓
