Entrepreneurship, leadership, and investing in future talent took center stage at the BestPrep Annual Luncheon. Representatives from the College of Business, including Dean Seung Bach and Maverick Innovation Gateway Director Lisa Haman, attended the event recognizing exceptional students, teachers, and volunteers whose impact stood out during the 2025–26 school year.

A highlight of the luncheon was hearing from Michael E. Jordan, Minnesota State University, Mankato alumn and Founder/CEO of UNRL. Jordan shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey, emphasizing creative discipline, intentional growth, and a leadership philosophy rooted in a simple principle: master the craft first, grow second.

What a great turnout at the Maverick Innovation Gateway on Wednesday!

We hosted The 5 A’s of AI: Assistants, Automation, Avatars, Agents & APIs—bringing together students, faculty, and industry professionals to explore how AI is actively reshaping the way we learn, work, and lead.

The level of engagement and curiosity in the room made one thing clear: AI isn’t just something on the horizon—it’s already here, and our students are ready to dive in and apply it.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success—and a special thank you to Paul Acito for sharing his expertise and delivering practical, thought-provoking insights.
